This 52-year-old Kampar man, Afidzul Ariffin cycled 170km, from Kampar Perak and all the way to Kuala Lumpur just to attend the anti-ICERD rally that happened last weekend at Dataran Merdeka!
Now this is not only super impressive for 52-year-old man, which most others would prolly just watch on TV, but it even caught the attention of Malaysia's former prime minister, Najib Razak -- as he shared this video on his Facebook page:
Najib even stated that he was so touched that he wanted to personally meet Encik Afidzul.
Encik Afidzul started pedalling down to KL at 4.00AM on Friday (7 DEC 2018) to make a stand at the anti-ICERD rally for the sake of religion, race and country.
"Don't give excuses. Show up..for the sake of religion, race and country, we have to fight them to the end. (But) not in a rough manner," stated Encik Afidzul, as he encouraged Malaysians to do their part and attend the rally.
The long journey was not easy as Afidzul faced some roadbumps here and there -- like being stopped by police in Bidor over a black flagged attached to his bicycle.
He (the officer) told me I cannot fly the flag. I asked why and he said it was like the Islamic State flag. I protested… then he explained that certain quarters might get the wrong impression because of the colour of the flag," reported Afidzul.
However, we're happy to report that Afidzul did arrive safely to KL, and made his presence felt at the rally.
He could well be a truly fit political warrior, but for a 54-year-old man, we must admire his strong cycling legs.
