In recent news, we have been hearing a lot of road accidents happening all around and last night, tragedy struct again as a man died in an accident on the KL – Seremban Expressway.
The Star reported that the incident happened on 2 December at 12.10am.
The victim was a 34-year-old dispatch rider who was headed towards the Sungai Besi toll plaza.
Before anyone jumps to conclusions, the driver was not a drunk driver unlike most accident cases we’ve been reading about.
The victim was struct by a man driving a Honda Civic in the third lane of the highway.
Chief Asst Comm Zulkefly of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) told Harian Metro, “The man driving the car then crashed into the victim’s Honda EX5 that was in the left lane.”
“Due to the accident, the motorcyclist was dragged for about 1.5m and sustained severe injuries,” he added.
While en route to University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre in Cheras, the victim was pronounced dead.
The driver was brought to a police station to undergo a breathalyser test and test results were negative. The police will be investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
