Malaysia has 71 cases today. 69 are local transmissions whereas 2 are imported. In the last 24 hours, there are 64 recoveries and 0 death recorded. Most local cases today are from Sabah.

Beijing, China - Chinese authorities have found that a Biopharma Plant Leak infects thousands of people with bacterial disease. The factory was producing Brucella vaccines for animals using expired disinfectant from July to August. This has caused the factory to form aerosols containing the bacteria and then carried by the wind all the way to the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute.

According to Xinhua news agency, it is found that 1,401 people were found positive for this brucellosis disease including students and faculty members of the university. US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has mentioned that it is extremely rare for this disease to have a person to person transmission but its symptoms may either reoccur or never go away.

Some of the symptoms for brucellosis include:

    • Recurrent fevers
    • Chronic fatigue
    • Heart swelling
    • Arthritis
    • Headache
    • Joint pain

As a gesture of apology, local authorities said that the factory will be giving compensation to patients who were affected and would start in batches from October.

Scary as it seems, some people are concern if the disease will contribute to a possible pandemic. Fortunately, researches have stated with assurance that this will not be similar to Coronavirus.

All in all, let's all stay safe and obey the SOPs at all times.
