(WATCH TILL THE END! YOU MAY NEED TISSUES FOR THIS)
He was living a great and normal life until he was 18. Suddenly, an unexpected disease strike and his life was turned upside down. Li Hua was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, a rare disease that caused his bones to fuse and spine to curve forward. As a result, his whole upper body was folded and he couldn’t stand up straight for 28 YEARS!
Three parts of his body are connected: his chin to his chest, his breastbone to his pubic bone and his face to his thighs.
His mom has tried many ways to get her son treated. However, none of them can successfully heal him. Luckily, they came across an orthopedic in ShenZhen who was willing to perform a surgery on Li Hua.
After a series of 4 risky operations, Li Hua can now stand up straight, lift up his face and look at his mother again.
Watch the 11 minute documentary below about his recovery journey in Shenzhen:
Before you complain about the things that you don’t have, start appreciating the things that you do have, cause not everyone can live comfortably like you. So BE GRATEFUL!
