Taman Tasik Titiwangsa will be closed to the public INDEFINITELY starting today, 28 MAY 2020, reports DKBL.
DBKL said it decided to close the park as there have been too many visitors since the loosening of restrictions under the CMCO.
“This is to prevent any outbreak of COVID-19 because of the high number of people visiting the park."
“However, jogging activities are still allowed outside and around the park,” DBKL said in a statement.
Visitors have also disobeyed the rules and SOPs set by the Health Ministry, prompting the closure of the park.
"Some families visited the park to have picnics, which is not allowed, and some even cut our yellow tape around playground sets for their children to play in."
"Our officers will be monitoring the other parks in the city and if we find similar behaviour, we will have no choice but to close those parks as well," reports a DBKL spokesperson.
DBKL had previously announced that all parks under its jurisdiction such as Taman Rimba Kiara, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa and Taman Botani Perdana would be open to individual joggers under the CMCO from 4 MAY 2020 onwards.
Other amenities like children’s playgrounds, exercise equipment, football fields and bookings for sports halls and fields were still off limits.
