Neither the Malaysian government nor Education Ministry have brought up any possible dates of schools re-opening but Education Minister, Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin, had made an announcement yesterday, 11 MAY, that when schools do operate again, each classroom will only be limited to 17 students at at time.
“While 35 students may be permitted to join a class before this, in this new scenario, we cannot allow that to happen."
"In the context of social distancing, as many as 16 to 17 students may be permitted to join one class," he says.
He also added that in the case of larger schools, the classroom limit may be increased to 20 students.
There's a strong possibility that students who will be sitting for SPM and STPM may be allowed back to school ahead of other students, when safe dates are announced.
There will also be special SOPs that school canteens will have to adhere to when schools are permitted to re-open, but have not been announced yet.
We'll update you guys when we hear more.
