I'm going on a hunch here that many of you guys must've heard about the option of being quarantined at 5-star hotels and receiving 3 meals a day right?
I mean c'mon...we all know how desperate Malaysians are to escape the confinement of their own homes.
Well good news is YES... you can - so you can live away from home, at somewhere a lot more luxurious...BUT it comes at a price.
"Those who want to be quarantined at 5-star hotels will have to bear the cost themselves," says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Oh...and you DON'T get to choose ANY 5-star hotel you want to live in.
Your options are confined to 5-star hotels announced by the government.
However, there are no promises that you'll be able to even get a room as these places are meant for Malaysians returning from abroad as well as foreigners, such as ambassadors and diplomats entering the country.
"Embassies have approached us to allow their representatives to be quarantined at hotels and will bear the full cost of stay for their diplomats. That is why we have gazetted certain hotels as quarantine centres," says Ismail.
According to Ismail, the government limits the budget for accommodation and food to RM150 per day and other expenses such as laundry will be your own responsibility to handle.
I understand how tempting this sounds, especially for those living in tight quarters like small condo units, but really...nothing feels better than home.
