Safety Over Comfort: Why You'll Need the N95 Mask in this Haze.

Safety Over Comfort: Why You'll Need the N95 Mask in this Haze.

by Mitchell W.

People are getting seriously ill and some have even died from this haze, and to make shit worse, no one seems to know when it'll end...

I don't wanna say that the haze is here to stay, but it'll definitely be here for awhile.

So the only thing left for us to do, is to take precaution and safety measures -- like wearing the proper mask.

This shit doesn't work... it may be cheap but it's definitely ineffective.

What you'll need is this...

The N95 mask.

Why?

Well 3 Reasons:

1. The Tiny Airborne Particles WILL Damage Your Heart & Lungs

Exposure to the Haze will lead to:

  • premature death in people with heart or lung disease
  • nonfatal heart attacks
  • episodes of irregular heartbeats
  • aggravated asthma
  • decreased lung function
  • increased respiratory symptoms, such as irritation of the airways, coughing, or difficulty breathing.

PM = Particulate Matter

In the case of this haze, PM2.5 is the dominant pollutant during haze episodes.

It has a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers, which is about 30 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.

2. Surgical Masks Aren't Design for Protections Against Haze

Sure, the N95 mask isn't comfortable...we get that, but are you willing to risk your health for confort?

The cheap (...and soft) surgical masks that you can find anywhere are NOT designed to protect you from Particulate Matter -- instead, it is made to provide barrier protection against droplets... such as splashes or sprays of blood, body fluids, secretions, and excretions from reaching the wearer’s mouth and nose.

You're now practically paying money but STILL breathing in the haze.

3. N95 Masks are Reliable to do Its Job.

N95 respirators are manufactured for use in construction and industrial jobs that expose workers to hazardous airborne particles and dust, and are recommended and regulated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).

It is certified to block 95% of very small (0.3 micrometers) airborne particles, which means it is definitely effective against the PM2.5 particles found in the haze!

The respirator has to have a tight seal all the way around your face when you inhale so that you only breathe in purified air through the filter, not the contaminated air that leaks around the edges of the mask.

Tbh, though the N95 mask cost RM6 per piece, it beats having to pay for your medical bills later.

You could continue paying with coins for the surgical masks, but you aren't doing yourself any good.

Don't be Penny Wise, but Pound Foolish.

Protect yourself and family members now.
