A video had been circulating on social media of a man jumping off the 10th floor of an apartment complex along Jalan Raja Uda, Butterworth, Penang.

The incident happened around 6:50pm. The man was spotted riding his motorcycle to the apartment and took the lift up to the 10th floor before sitting at the edge of the balcony before suddenly jumping as he acted out of control.

According to Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd. Noor, the 26-year-old wife of the man said he was suffering from emotional distress for the past few days due to suffering losses from his business. He had also received treatment from a private clinic four days ago.

The victim was confirmed dead by paramedics at the scene and the body was handed over to the police fur the next course of action.
